About Us
We are passionate about teaching our students and helping them succeed. We care, and it shows in the attention we give to each student and how we treat our clients.
We take the time to understand training needs and learning styles and design a structured plan to ensure students succeed. We have also created many of our own teaching methods and tools. Our students appreciate how quickly and effectively they learn.
We also give back to our local communities by providing resource materials and classes to low income families and those seeking employment. We help students who may otherwise slip through the cracks, and those wanting to reach their educational, career, or personal goals.
Our founder, Marie-Claire Thauvette, first applied her engaging, fun, and positive teaching approach in 1988. Her students would come after school for tutoring and to her summer camps. Parents noticed that their children would be learning and speaking French with enthusiasm outside of class.
She began providing government and business language training in 1993 with the same approach, and her business grew steadily through word of mouth. In 2008 the company moved into a brand new training centre, and in 2010 doubled the size of the centre.
We are very selective in hiring staff, ensuring that experience and qualifications are appropriate and that our teaching philosophies match. We provide extensive and ongoing training
and learning materials, and review teacher
progress regularly.
We value our staff's input, as they are often
in the best position to know what our students
need and determine ways to best meet them.
In 2008 we moved into our brand new training
centre in Kanata South. Rooms are beautifully
finished with high ceilings and hardwood floors,
and many of them look out on nature. Our subsequent growth led to us doubling the size of our facility in 2010. Our centre has plenty of free parking and is near regular bus routes.
Our training centre is equipped with private kitchen and washroom facilities, a picnic area, wireless internet, and a resource library. The Trans Canada Trail (ideal for biking and walking) is beside our office and stores, restaurants and coffee shops are nearby. The centre includes ground floor classrooms and is accessible to people with disabilities.
We can teach at your workplace, at other locations, or by distance education. Our distance learning option allows students to connect directly with their teacher and receive many of the benefits of in-person training.
